Independent Health named one of the nation's best insurance companies for Medicare Advantage

Independent Health is the only Western New York health plan to earn this honor from U.S. News & World Report for six consecutive years.

BUFFALO, N.Y. (October 31, 2024) – U.S. News & World Report, the global authority in health care rankings and consumer advice, has named Independent Health to its annual list of the best health insurance companies offering Medicare Advantage coverage in the nation. Independent Health is the only health plan in Western New York to receive this prestigious recognition for six straight years (2020-2025).

U.S. News developed its “2025 Best Insurance Companies for Medicare Advantage” list by evaluating private insurance companies based on 34 quality measures published by the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). Among the measures analyzed were “Getting Needed Care,” “Care Coordination,” “Medication Adherence,” “Customer Service” and various preventive care services and screenings, including “Colorectal Cancer Screening,” Breast Cancer Screening” and “Annual Flu Vaccination.”
