Variety of activities to be held at Independent Health’s Medicare Health Hub

BUFFALO, N.Y. (April 30, 2024) – As a way to make sure our Medicare Advantage plan members have the tools, resources and information they need to achieve better health, Independent Health is hosting a variety of health and wellness activities at our Medicare Health Hub, which is located inside our Medicare Information Center at 620 Dick Road in Depew.

Our Health Hub has a little bit of something for everyone – from fun, in-person programs to virtual, educational classes that can be accessed at www.independenthealth.com/healthhub. Among the in-person and virtual Health Hub activities and classes that will be exclusively available to our Medicare members in May and June include:

• Understanding Your Benefits: Get the most out of your wellness benefits, including vision, dental, over-the-counter allowance, RedShirt Rewards^SM and more! 

• Transitioning to Retirement: Are you planning for retirement? Join us as we discuss how to properly plan and make the most of your time and money.

• Memory Loss: Learn different exercises and techniques you can use to combat memory loss as you age.

• Falls Prevention: Tips to help prevent falls at home. Learn how to register for the Falls Prevention Program and how an in-home assessment can help reduce your risk of injury.

• Identity Theft Prevention: Learn important tips to protect yourself and your loved ones from identity theft.

• Nutritional Education: A general nutrition class for maintaining strength, reducing sugar intake and meal planning.

• Forever Fit Workout: Have fun and move to the music with a combination of low-impact cardio movements and strength-training exercises.

• Chair Yoga: Experience the benefits of yoga without having to get down on the floor. All fitness levels are welcome.
